WAR: What if...
"What if there was a war and nobody came?"
That is one phrase I have not heard in a long time, since it adorned t-shirts back to the 60's. Now our beloved 'leaders' have all but brushed their wars under the carpet. The surge in Iraqis is deemed to be working as we, the US, keep out-killing 'them' 100 to 1 so yes it is working great, Haliburton is selling its crap and making its back door deals while they've set up Blackwater to take the rap, finally. Torture is business as usual and the American people are waiting for their $600 from George W. What a pathetic state we are in. Now something else that I'm sure is going to come off as unpopular but here it is: how can you be against the war and support the troops? That is beyond my comprehension. Let's face the facts: basically, our troops are a bunch of uneducated, underage, underpaid, psychologically challenged, angry young men who have deferred the responsibility of their actions in life to others. Unfortunately, in the process they have become assassins. "You're going to get the education of your life", the army commercial used to say. Well, they are, aren't they. I'm sorry to be so blunt but this is election year. I don't support the troops, they are all a bunch of murderers. America in fact has lost more wars than it won. Let's see: WW1(Won), WW2(Won). North Korea(draw), Vietnam(Lost), War on Poverty, started by Lyndon B. Johnson(Lost), War on Drugs, started by Ronald Reagan(Lost), War on Terror, started by George W. Bush(Lost). The war consciousness has to be transcended, fear has to be eradicated. The world is a family but it is not being treated as such by our leaders. We must then change our leaders to reflect the change in consciousness that needs to take effect.
